Built by bankers and AI builders, in the same room.

Our team spent 10+ years with finance, risk, and treasury functions at US and European banks, and built AI tools at big tech firms and startups. We understand the regulation, the organizational processes, the data, and the technology – and we built Baselisk to connect all four.

Questions about Baselisk, answered.

What Baselisk does, how it fits alongside your existing systems, and how we keep your data secure.

What is Baselisk?

Baselisk is an AI-native software that helps banks hold the right amount of regulatory capital. It finds the data and documentation gaps that inflate risk-weighted assets (RWA) and fixes them, without changing the bank's risk profile.

What is RWA optimization?

It is the practice of reducing a bank's risk-weighted assets through better data quality and correct, complete application of regulatory rules — without reducing actual lending. Lower RWA means less capital tied up and higher return on equity.

How much capital can RWA optimization release?

Results vary by portfolio, but banks typically find meaningful RWA reductions from fixing data gaps and applying the rules correctly and completely — often in the range of several percent of total RWA. For a mid-sized bank, that can translate into hundreds of millions in freed capital.

Is RWA optimization compliant with regulation?

Yes. It is about applying the regulatory framework correctly and completely — for example, recognizing eligible collateral and guarantees, fixing data gaps, and applying permitted treatments correctly. It does not involve regulatory arbitrage or misreporting.

Who uses Baselisk?

Teams responsible for regulatory capital: treasury, capital management, risk control, and finance functions at banks subject to Basel III — from mid-cap institutions to large banking groups.

How does Baselisk differ from consulting-led RWA reviews?

Traditional RWA reviews are one-off consulting projects that take months and produce a report. Baselisk is a software embedded into your workflow, allowing you to continuously monitor and optimize your RWA.

How long does implementation take?

Baselisk sits on top of your existing systems, significantly reducing implementation time. Because it works from standard regulatory data the bank already produces, initial analysis can start within weeks, not months. No core system integration is required to get first results.

How is Baselisk priced?

Our license fees are heavily weighted towards success participation. We win when the bank wins.

Does Baselisk replace our existing regulatory reporting systems?

No. Baselisk sits alongside your existing reporting and risk infrastructure and works from the data those systems already produce. Nothing needs to be replaced or migrated.

Which regulatory frameworks does Baselisk cover?

Baselisk is built on the Basel III framework, including the final reforms, and is configured to each jurisdiction's national implementation of it including Reg Q and CRR3.

How is our data kept secure?

Baselisk is GDPR compliant, and SOC 2 Type II is in progress. Deployments are structured to meet bank confidentiality and data residency requirements.
